LKAB Malmtrafik extends its contract with Railcare for transporting iron ore, worth a total of approximately SEK 70 million

LKAB Malmtrafik is exercising its option to extend the contract with Railcare relating to iron ore transports until 31 December 2024. The value of the contract during 2024 amounts to approximately SEK 70 million.

“LKAB is a key customer and it is very pleasing that they are exercising the option to extend the agreement throughout 2024. The early announcement that the option will be exercised provides good foresight in the planning of resources and ensures that the transports can take place without interruption. In the new contract, we will also equip all locomotives with central coupling, which gives us the opportunity to haul heavier loads,” commented Mattias Remahl, CEO of Railcare Group AB.

The iron ore transports will run between Svappavaara-Kiruna and Svappavaara-Gällivare.
