Railcare certified for maintenance of Alstom ETCS

Last week, a number of Railcare employees from both the transport business and the locomotive workshop attended a certification course at Alstom for maintenance, repair and diagnostics of their ETCS system đźš„.

An investment in knowledge and skills that not only strengthens Railcare internally, but also opens the doors to opportunities to expand services to external customers.

“Now when we can handle our own maintenance for the ETCS system, we ensure a smoother operation for our own projects, and can also offer high-quality services to other companies in the industry”, says Patrik Söderholm, Operations Manager at Railcare Lokverkstad, and concludes:

“We are curious and innovative, and by investing in our staff and knowledge, we want to be able to offer the latest technology as ERTMS is rebuilt.”

Facts
The European standard ERTMS is a new traffic management system for trains that will, among other things, facilitate border crossings between countries, reduce intervals between trains, reduce maintenance costs and ensure maximum safety. ETCS is the on-board system required to communicate with the control system.

Alstom is one of the world leaders in this field, and its ETCS solutions are both scalable and configurable, and can be adapted to all types of vehicle-based projects.
